CoreStory: A Persistent Spec Layer for Software Development
Anand Kulkarni and Charath Ranganathan wanted a code-intelligence layer that both humans and AI agents could trust.
CoreStory is a code intelligence platform. It builds a persistent understanding of how a codebase works, then makes that understanding available to architects, product managers, developers, and AI coding agents — everywhere product and engineering work happens.
Most context solutions are disposable: an AI agent reads your repo, forms a view, then forgets. CoreStory keeps the view. One shared intelligence layer, grounded in source code, serves every consumer — from the new hire learning the system to Claude Code, Cursor, and GitHub Copilot via native MCP and API integrations.
The use cases follow: modernizing legacy applications, maintaining and extending complex systems, onboarding developers faster, and managing the technical debt AI-generated code is already creating. The software development workflow now spans humans and machines; CoreStory is the layer that keeps them coherent.
Code intelligence for humans and AI.
CoreStory builds a persistent understanding of how code works and makes those specifications available to humans and AI across the development workflow.
