Denver, CO - April 21, 2021 - Recognizing that U.S. startups are increasingly interested in moving or expanding to more affordable and diverse locations, Bee Partners, a pre-Seed venture capital firm headquartered in San Francisco, CA, has established a satellite office in Denver, Colorado.

The start-up and investment ecosystem in Colorado is growing
The office is being launched by Bee Partners Principal Kira Noodleman, who will source regional deal flow and help the firm build a network of Founders and other investors from the Mountain Time Zone’s fertile innovation hub. It will also provide Denver Founders with fundraising resources and support. The Denver-Boulder region ranked 11th in the United States and 24th worldwide in the Global Startup Ecosystem Report 2020 with high marks for connectedness and knowledge.

“We’re excited about Denver as a locus of ingenuity,” says Michael Berolzheimer, Founder and managing partner of Bee Partners. “With the relationships we’ve developed by supporting Bee Partners portfolio companies in places such as Atlanta, Toronto, and Memphis, we’re quite aware that innovation knows no geographic boundaries. Kira’s work in Denver will extend our reach and give us a deeper footprint.”

Colorado has an established venture community that is experiencing rapid growth. According to Pitchbook, the region saw 98 deals close in 2020, compared to Seattle’s 88 and Chicago’s 82. Denver deal value increased 265 percent over 2019. The Denver entrepreneurial ecosystem’s “give first” ethos resonates strongly with the Bee Partners’ focus on serving Founders.

Bee Partners will expand its connections, while identifying unbounded potential in the earliest venture deals
As Bee Partners’ Rocky Mountain presence, Noodleman will help the firm discover the most promising local entrepreneurs, including those in new and emerging vectors, while continuing to support the portfolio companies she has worked with since joining Bee Partners in 2016. She will also develop relationships with area VCs to partner in new deals and follow-on investments. The shift to remote work and Zoom meetings allows Noodleman to keep her valuable Bay Area connections while plugging into new deal-flow sources she can channel towards Bee Partners’ Silicon Valley base.

“Denver and Boulder are burgeoning with new ideas, a growing startup ecosystem, and as-yet-unrecognized talent,” says Kira Noodleman. “The region is a VC’s diamond in the rough and I’m thrilled to be not only leading our discovery here but to be able to plug Denver startups into the Bee Partners broader network.”
